Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Sleepy Boy Studios Ltd ("Sleepy Boy Studios", "we", "our" or "us") handles personal information when you use our mobile applications, games, websites and related services, together referred to as the "Apps".
Different Apps use different features, so not every type of information described below applies to every App. The app-specific section explains the main differences.
In summary
Depending on the App and the features you choose to use, we may process information you provide, app usage and diagnostic information, purchase status, optional location information, and information needed to provide cloud, sharing, advertising or artificial-intelligence features.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Apple or Google.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
This may include account or authentication identifiers; photos, documents, notes or other content you choose to upload; medication, appointment or prayer-completion information used in relevant Apps; support messages; and preferences or settings you choose to save.
1.2 Information collected automatically
Some Apps use analytics, crash-reporting and performance tools. These may collect information such as app opens, features used, session activity, app and operating-system version, device model, approximate country or region, diagnostic logs, crash details, installation identifiers and IP address.
We use this information to operate, secure, understand and improve the Apps. We do not intentionally include the contents of private photos, health records, student work or journal entries in analytics events.
1.3 Purchases and subscriptions
Apple, Google and, where used, RevenueCat process purchases and subscriptions. We may receive transaction identifiers, product purchased, entitlement status, renewal or expiry information and limited diagnostic information. We do not receive your full card or bank details.
1.4 Location
Some Apps may request location access to show nearby information, calculate results or obtain local data. Where possible, location is processed on your device or sent only to the service needed to return the requested information. We do not create a location-history profile unless an App clearly tells you otherwise.
1.5 Advertising
Some Apps display advertising through Google AdMob. Depending on your device settings, consent choices and Google's configuration, AdMob may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device information and ad-interaction information to deliver, measure or personalise advertising.
2. How and why we use information
We use personal information to provide features you request; authenticate users; store, sync or share content where enabled; validate purchases; provide support; maintain security; prevent misuse; diagnose faults; understand performance and usage; comply with legal obligations; and improve the Apps.
2.1 Lawful bases
Depending on the processing, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:
Contract: where processing is necessary to provide an App, purchase or feature you request.
Legitimate interests: where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support and improve the Apps, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent: where you make an optional choice, such as granting location permission, enabling certain sharing features, providing special-category information, or agreeing to personalised advertising where required. You may withdraw consent through the App or device settings where available.
Legal obligation: where processing is necessary to comply with law or respond to a valid legal requirement.
2.2 Sensitive information
Certain features may involve health information, religious-practice information or other sensitive data. We process this information only to provide the feature you choose to use. We do not use this information for advertising, marketing, profiling or AI model training. Where required, we ask for your explicit consent.
3. Services we use and when information is shared
We use service providers to operate particular Apps and features. The information sent to each provider depends on the App and feature being used.
3.1 Main service providers
Google Firebase: analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, authentication, cloud storage, databases, remote configuration and backend functions.
RevenueCat: purchase validation, subscription and entitlement management.
Apple and Google: app distribution, purchases, device services, iCloud or Game Center features where used.
Google AdMob: advertising in supported Apps.
OpenAI: processing documents or text submitted to artificial-intelligence features.
Transport for London and WeatherAPI: transport and weather information requested by relevant Apps.
3.2 Other sharing
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, investigate fraud or security incidents, protect users or our services, or establish and defend legal claims.
If the business or an App is sold, reorganised or transferred, relevant information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
Where an App lets you share information with another person, you choose the recipient or group. Recipients may retain information after you stop sharing it, so only share with people you trust.
3.3 International processing
Some providers process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States or European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are protected using recognised legal safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism. Provider locations and safeguards may change over time.
4. Retention and security
4.1 How long information is kept
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the relevant feature, the purposes described in this policy, security and dispute handling, or legal requirements.
Local information normally remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App's data or remove the App. Cloud content is generally retained while the relevant account or feature remains active and is deleted or anonymised after deletion, subject to backups, technical delays and any legal need to retain limited records.
Analytics, crash, advertising and purchase information is retained according to our configuration and the relevant provider's retention practices. Where an App applies a specific retention period, it is stated in the app-specific section below.
4.2 Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including encrypted network connections, authentication, access controls and service security rules. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
4.3 Data breaches
We assess suspected personal-data breaches and notify regulators or affected individuals where required by applicable law. Not every security incident requires notification.
5. Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; receive certain information in a portable format; and complain to a data-protection authority.
You can often manage information directly through the relevant App or your device settings. You may also contact support@sleepyboystudios.com. We may need enough information to identify the relevant account or records and verify that the request is genuine.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Some rights are subject to conditions or exemptions, and we may retain limited information where legally permitted or required.
UK users may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. You also have the right to contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.
6. Children's privacy
Our Apps have age ratings set through the relevant app store. Some Apps may be suitable for or likely to be accessed by children. Where an App processes children's personal information, we aim to collect only what is reasonably needed for the feature, provide information in clear language and use privacy-protective settings where appropriate.
A child should have permission from a parent or guardian where required. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
7. App-specific information
7.1 No. 10: Full Confidence
The game may use Firebase Analytics and Remote Config, RevenueCat for optional purchases, and Apple Game Center where you enable it. Game progress, settings and save data are stored locally on your device. The game does not require location access, advertising or an account for core play. Apple controls information processed through Game Center under its own privacy terms.
7.2 Hop-on
With permission, Hop-on uses your location to show nearby transport information. Location, favourites and recent searches are primarily processed or stored on your device. Requests to Transport for London may include your IP address and the stop, route or location needed to return results. Analytics and purchase status may be processed through Firebase and RevenueCat.
7.3 Haze
Haze may use your chosen or approximate location to request weather information from WeatherAPI. It may also use Firebase services and Google AdMob. We do not use the App to maintain a location-history profile.
7.4 Advent Photo Cal
If you use cloud or sharing features, photos, authentication identifiers and sharing references may be stored using Firebase. You control who receives a sharing link. Shared cloud content may be removed after approximately 12 months or earlier if you delete it or the relevant service is discontinued. The App may also use Firebase analytics and Google AdMob.
7.5 Tablets App
Medication names, doses, schedules, appointment information and notes may be stored locally or, where you enable supported cloud features, in Firebase. This information is used only to provide medication, reminder, sync and optional sharing features. It is not used for advertising.
If you enable Care Circle or another sharing feature, you choose what categories are shared and with whom. You can stop future sharing through the App, although a recipient may retain information they have already viewed, downloaded or exported. Reminders are generally generated locally on your device.
7.6 Prayer Times
Location may be processed on your device to calculate prayer times. Journal entries, Qada tracking and tasbeeh counts are stored locally unless the App clearly states otherwise.
If you use a Family feature, prayer-completion information may be stored in Firebase and shared with members of your chosen group. Because this can reveal religious practice, it is processed only when you choose to create or join the feature and give any consent requested in the App.
7.7 PrEP Pills
Medication reminders and preferences are generally stored locally. The App may use Firebase analytics, but does not intentionally send the contents of your medication reminders to analytics. Educational information supplied by iBASE is displayed in the App; using that content does not itself share your personal information with iBASE.
7.8 Teacher Marking AI
Documents, answer sheets, mark schemes or text submitted to the AI marking feature are transmitted securely to OpenAI's API to generate the requested result. We do not intentionally use submitted student content for advertising, general analytics or training our own models, and we do not store cloud copies in our own database unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise.
OpenAI may process or temporarily retain submitted information under its business and security practices. Teachers and schools are responsible for ensuring they are authorised to submit student information. We encourage users to remove student names and other unnecessary personal information before uploading wherever reasonably possible.
Generated results are normally stored locally on the user's device unless the user chooses to export or save them elsewhere.
7.9 Other Apps
Other Apps may store preferences and content locally and may use some of the services described above. The App's permission prompts, store privacy information and in-App notices provide additional feature-specific information where needed.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our Apps, providers or data practices change. The current version and update date will be published on this page. Where required, we will provide additional notice of a material change.
9. Contact and company information
Sleepy Boy Studios Ltd is the controller for personal information covered by this policy unless an App or feature explains that we act only as a processor on behalf of another organisation.
